Claire Mason – Head Queen/Founder
Perth’s very own born and bred colour Queen, educator, blogger, motivational speaker and founder of East Fremantle’s leading Hair Lounge – Eighty One on George.
Claire has built a solid reputation, platform and social media presence by consistently creating exceptional in-salon experiences, amazing yet crazy colour trends and continually sharing her motivational tips and wealth of knowledge!
Claire began her hairdressing journey at the young age of 13 working in a family friend’s hair salon. Young Claire, who at this point wanted to follow in her aunt’s foot steps and become a Lawyer, fell in love with the art of Hairdressing and began her apprenticeship with that “typical” chain salon. After the treatment, inconsistency and experiences she faced during her apprenticeship (which Claire continues to blog about) she founded her business at the young age of 21.
Claire uses honesty regarding some of her traumatic life experiences as determination, motivation and inspiration to be the very best industry leader and version of herself, all whilst growing her dream team.
Claire is an advocate for women, human rights and aspiring business owners. She has a no bullshit, honest and uplifting approach to life which will leave you empowered to conquer your goals and face your fears head on!
Being Head Colourist/Educator for Emsibeth Cosmetics, she naturally travels the world hungry to learn, evolve and broaden her knowledge, to then pass it on to the guests and team of Eighty One on George – even those who briefly cross her path.
A master colourist in her field, specialising in the latest cutting edge colour trends – Claire and her hand selected/trained team of Queens will stop at nothing to customise, personalise, design and push every colour to its limits creating new techniques, colours and looks in the process.
All of these attributes complimented by kick ass customer service and quality products is the perfect cocktail for success!
Lauren – Executive Queen/Salon Manager
Lauren Harrison began her hairdressing journey as Claire’s first year apprentice in 2011. After growing with each other as stylists and Claire’s first protégé, Lauren completed the last of her training in a local barbershop, providing Lauren with exceptional skill and knowledge in both ladies’ and mens’ styling.
After the opening of Eighty One on George, Lauren began working along side Claire again, reunited at long last! Lauren developed into an executive colourist and began the journey specialising in vivid hair and playing a major role in helping to grow the reputation of the salon. Lauren’s passion and commitment for both colour and Eighty One on George found her being quickly promoted to Executive Queen and Salon Manager.
Claire and Lauren are like peanut butter and jelly, they stick together like glue and against all odds have proved that best friends can work together in harmony. They refer to each other as being “one person” and find themselves stronger as a team then any individual – a friendship to truly envy!
Emma – Queen of hair/Executive Stylist
Emma has been hairdressing for 4 years, after having a similar scenario to Claire, working in a typical chain salon; Emma out-sourced Eighty One on George, through
Claire’s partner Tom! Emma had a burning desire to rekindle with her love and passion for hair – what better place to start than with the motivational and uplifting team of Eighty One on George.
Although young, Emma has an exceptional and natural ability to transform and cater to the needs of her forever growing clientele.
Emma loves creating soft, natural and blended colours allowing her to specialise in balayage and blondes. However, don’t let that fool you – Emma also slays the perfect vivid colours with ease.
Emma’s passion for customer service has found herself in the hands and guidance of Claire, being the perfect fit as Executive Stylist and Queen of Hair at Eighty One on George.
